Dr. Jordan Fromstein is our newest, and freshest-faced member of the Yorkville Animal Hospital veterinary team. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009, and still has that wonderful, fresh, new grad smell about him. Always the overachiever, Jordan decided that a mere Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree was not enough, and immediately entered a post-graduate program at the University of Guelph in clinical pathology. In 2014, Dr. Fromstein completed his board examinations, and is now a member of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. We are very lucky to have a real, live specialist working for us with so many fancy letters after his name.
Dr. Fromstein was raised in ‘beautiful Thornhill’ (his words, not ours). Thankfully for us, he has recently seen the light and moved downtown. He lives with his girlfriend Ksenia, whom he is quite fond of. Their brood currently consists of two rescue cats named Cleo and Max, and his five fish named Bautista, Encarnacion, Reyes, Bonifacio and Brett Lawrie. Apparently, the fish are named after some sort of sports figures or something.
Aside from finishing up his thesis or making your puppy feel all better, Jordan enjoys basketball, rock climbing and working out at the gym. He is a multi-time provincial and national handball champion, which is pretty darned awesome. If asked, he will wax philosophical about the joys of handball and tell you why paddles and rackets are for sissies.
When not lifting heavy things or hitting balls, Jordan enjoys balcony gardening. He has grown orange and banana trees, taro, and many wondrous vegetables in his urban oasis.
Dr. Fromstein is overjoyed to be working with Dr. Gignac and all of the staff at Yorkville Animal Hospital. At least that’s what he said during his job interview.
