Call us. Just like doctors, veterinarians sometimes need to try more than one treatment/medication to find the solution to cure or manage a pet’s condition. Please let us know if something we recommended or prescribed isn’t helping. We want to work with you to find the right answers for your pet.
Depending on your pet’s illness, we may try a treatment to treat the most likely cause of the problem. If that treatment is not helping, then we can move on to try something else, or to proceed with more diagnostic testing to help us further define your pet’s problem. We don’t do “all the tests” right off the bat in most cases, as it would be unnecessary and terribly costly. We will usually takes things one step at a time. Lack of response to treatment doesn’t necessarily mean that something is wrong, it means that we have to take the next step.
